Some of you may remember last year that I received a gift certificate from KK for my birthday to Sundara Spa. This is a gorgeous spa resort in Wisconsin Dells where you can get a variety of services done and the staff's job is to spoil you and pamper you for your entire stay. KK's brother and his wife have gone there a couple times and raved about it so I was excited to go. We've been putting it off for various reasons because of KK's work schedule, but the certificate expires on the 9th of this month so spring break was the perfect time.
We arrived on Sunday afternoon after dropping Bucky off at grandma and grandpa's house. Right away you relaxed as you walked in to a completely quiet lobby and entryway. Hushed voices are used in all public places and no cellphones are allowed outside of your suite. We checked in and were given directions to our suite and the bellman took our luggage up. Our suite was gorgeous...king size bed, whirlpool tub and fancy shower and a gas fireplace.

On the bed were robes and near the foot of the bed were sandals to be worn in the spa areas. Guests walk around in their robes and sandals everywhere as they travel to their spa services or even for breakfast in the morning.
We settled in to our room and then headed out to the outlet mall for some shopping and then dinner reservations later that night. We hit all the fun stores...Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Van Heusen and COACH!!!! My birthday gift for this year was a black Coach tote. I've been searching for a tote for school for quite a while but could never find one that was the right size but KK spotted this one and it was the perfect size for what I wanted.
Monday we hung out in the Purifying Bath and the pool area for most of the afternoon before our spa services.
During the bath you first shower and use a sandstone polish, then go into a steam room for 10 minutes, then you alternate between a hot whirlpool bath and a cold plunge pool 3-4 times before your services. This is to help you relax (obviously!) and to open your pores and relax your muscles to prep for massages and stuff. We had couples massages and facials and it was fabulous. You go into these treatment rooms that are completely silent and the massages/facials are sooooooo relaxing! I was a puddle after that afternoon.Tuesday we took our time getting ready to leave...who would want to leave such a gorgeous place! We wandered our way back to pick up Bucky and made it home late afternoon.
Now I need to find a way to become independently wealthy so I can hang out at this spa more often!!! We're already thinking we might save up to come pack for our anniversary next year...but I'm going to try to work it for winter break :)

Jealous! I need a spa weekend so bad.
I've NEVER been to a spa or even had a massage, I really want this. Glad you had a good time.
Cece--you need to have a massage!!! They are fabulous!
Carrie--Yes, you definitely need a spa weekend. You'd be amazed at how relaxed you get.
That looks awesome - and so much closer than Glen Ivy!!!
