Kathy and I, with the help (ie peer pressure) of our friends Steve and Sheri, stood in line outside Best Buy at 9:30 yesterday morning to get the coveted purple ticket which would give us the power to purchase a Wii Fit. We had talked about getting one, but weren't really interested in stomping people or standing in line freezing our butts off to get the thing. While at Steve and Sheri's housewarming party over the weekend they told us about the Wii they just bought and how they were going Sunday morning to get Wii Fit. Kathy opened her trap and told Sheri to pick us one up and we'd pay her back.
Well, 8:45 Sunday morning our phones start ringing...it's Sheri. She's in line at Best Buy and tells us to get dressed and join them in line.
It was like 15 degrees outside but there we were outside the store. At 9:45 they hand out the tickets and we get ours and go back to the car to warm up until the store opens. By 10:30 we had in our hot little hands our new Wii Fit.
Well, the little bastard has since told me I'm obese, my BMI is too high and I'm massively unbalanced and uncoordinated. I paid $90+ to find this out?!?! Cripes, I knew that shit for free.
It's fun though. I used it tonight when I got home for about 40 minutes and am getting better at the yoga moves. The strength training is going to kick my ass though. I have absolutely no upper body strength.

Every single blog entry I've read about the Fit has complained about feeling bad after the Wii Fit said something mean to them. I hope it will soon say something nice.
Do you get the On Demand stuff on cable at your house? In ours (Cox) we have the Free Zone and in there they have exercise videos for FREE. I've been doing the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred for FREE every other day now. It's terrific.
So, if you're sick of the mean Wii Fit, at least you can do that for a little while too.
Hey, at least you have lower body strength. LOL I don't even have that.
So we've had ours for a while and I'm enjoying watching mine bounce up and down. But I lost 5# my first month. I'm slowly see-sawing down down down...
Stick with it, it works. :)
(and I'm not even on the bar)
Dammit, I'm so behind the times. I want a Wii!!! And a Wii Fit! Damn that machine for saying that!
